Run for Fun? 'Not half' says BTMK
BTMK is once again supporting the Southend Fun Run in order to raise much-needed funds for two local hospices.
The event is a lighter alternative to the Southend Half-Marathon, and is organised each year by the Fair Havens and Little Havens hospices, long established providers of care and respite for people suffering from cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
Each year, the fun run attracts scores of families and occasional runners who want to take part in a fundraising event a little less demanding than the half-marathon.
Both races will take place simultaneously on Sunday 13th June at 10am and this year will see the fun run take in a new route in Shoebury. At three kilometres long, the run is a perfect length to walk, run or jog, and all runners who finish the course will take home a commemorative t-shirt and medal to remember the day by.
BTMK has been sponsoring the event for the last 15 years, as part of an ongoing programme of support offered by the firm to the hospices, including regular fundraising events such as quiz nights.
Godfrey Mather, Chief Executive of BTMK said: “As a firm, we support Fair Havens and Little Havens hospices wholeheartedly, and the fun run is just one way in which we can do this.
“It is a great way to get the local community to come together to have fun and as well as raise money for a very worthy cause, and we are, as always, very proud to be involved.”
