BTMK raises £2,500 for hospices through fun run support
Essex-based firm of solicitors BTMK has given a welcome cash boost to two local hospices by continuing its support of the Southend Fun Run.
The event, a lighter alternative to the Southend Half Marathon, which takes place simultaneously, is organised each year by the Fair Havens and Little Havens hospices, long established providers of care and respite for people suffering from cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
This year’s 3km run took place on a new course around the lake at Shoebury Garrison on Sunday 13th June, with more than 300 runners taking part.
BTMK raised more than £2,500 for the hospices through its sponsorship. The firm has been sponsoring the event for the last 15 years as part of an ongoing programme of support to the hospices, including regular fund-raising events such as quiz nights.
As a keepsake of their day, every runner who completed the course was given a medal and a BTMK commemorative T-shirt marking their achievement.
Godfrey Mather, Chief Executive of BTMK, said: “The fun run was a great success and helped raise thousands of pounds for Fair Havens and Little Havens hospices, which, as a firm, we support wholeheartedly.
“We would like to congratulate everyone who took part in the fun run; they helped raise much-needed funds for a very worthy cause.
“A full turn-out by all the BTMK partners and staff ensured that the event went smoothly.
