BTMK team collect fundraising prize

A team from the Southend office of BTMK solicitors were recognised for their fundraising efforts this month when they attended an awards ceremony organised by the British Heart Foundation. The 16 solicitors, trainees, partners and office staff who took part in a gruelling 59-mile bike ride from London to Southend last July were honoured at the Hearts Heroes awards, which took place at the charity’s London headquarters on Friday, 12 March. They received the prize for best effort by a small fundraising team, after raising around £2,500 in sponsorship and donations.

Team members Sarah Law, Anne-Marie Rainsford and Ausilia Matraxia collected their trophy in person from British Heart Foundation chief executive Peter Hollins.

Sarah said: “It was a fantastic evening with some inspiring and emotional stories, and it was lovely to meet others who had taken part in similar events.

“Taking part in the cycle ride was a tough challenge for all of us, but it was very satisfying to complete it and it was great to have our efforts recognised in this way.”
