Chris' 'Beefy' walk for charity
A partner at Essex-based solicitors, BTMK, did his bit for charity recently by taking part in the “Beefy 25 Forget-me-not Walk” at Hylands Park, organised by cricket legend Sir Ian Botham.
Chris Whitcombe took part in the event which was one of ten sponsored walks around the UK undertaken by the sports star, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of his first sponsored walk from Lands End to John O’Groats, in aid of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
This was not a first for Chris; he has taken part in several fundraising events for this particular charity over the years, having lost his father to Leukaemia when Chris was just a child.
Chris was keen to walk with Sir Ian and after the event, said: “It was an honour to walk with Beefy, especially in support of such a good cause. The hardest part was keeping up with him, as he clearly hasn’t slowed down over the years!”
