Client Testimonials
Stewart Williams Buckton Scott Ltd
Word of mouth and reputation in business is invaluable. When Rochford-based pharmaceutical distributor, Buckton Scott Limited needed a legal firm, the company’s accountant recommended BTMK Solicitors.
Since then, the legal firm has provided both advice and representation on employment, property and commercial issues.
Buckton Scott Limited’s managing director, Stewart Williams, has himself recommended BTMK to other companies looking for a solicitor.
“The firm provides solid legal advice,” says Mr Williams, “and their service is efficient”.
“BTMK is of a size that it can handle most areas of enquiry. I can go to them with most problems and there is someone there who can handle the issue.”
Awards Drinks Co
When running a business that crosses nations, you need a legal team that can get to grips with varying international legislation. Paul Judd, owner of Awards Drinks Co, has found just such a team in BTMK.
The company, based in Southend-On-Sea, Essex, is the largest supplier of beers, wines and spirits in Calais and specialises in selling drinks to holiday destinations across Europe. If you find a bar stocked with your favourite familiar tipples while you’re on your holidays, it is likely that Awards Drinks has supplied them.
Paul’s relationship with BTMK goes back a long way – “So long that I honestly can’t remember when,” he says – and stemmed from a business acquaintanceship with BTMK partner, Sean Callaghan.
“Sean used to work at another firm, but when he moved to BTMK I decided to move firms with him, “Paul says.
Since then Sean, a Deputy District Judge and specialist in partnership and LLP organisations, has remained his main point of contact. BTMK have dealt with litigation issues for Awards Drinks and help with the legal issues surrounding debt recovery, which can sometimes get more complex when dealing with foreign legislature.
“I generally use them for litigation surrounding debt recovery, and I always find that they deal with things as quickly as possible and keep me informed with weekly briefings.
“When I had some employment issues in my firm I called Sean, and he put me straight on to Fiona McAnaw, [head of the Employment Department at BTMK]. I spoke to her and she and the team dealt with it very efficiently and very well. Everyone there is helpful.”
And because BTMK cover a wide spectrum of legal disciplines, they are ready to deal with whatever problems may blow Paul’s way.
“I find it very useful that they are able to offer advice on so many different aspects of law – I’ve not yet had a problem they couldn’t help me with,” he says.
“BTMK are always my first point of call, and I would recommend them to anyone.”
