Historic victory for victims of abuse January 2008
BTMK represented one of the five Appellants in whose appeals the House of Lords gave an historic Judgment on the 30th January. The Lords overruled its previous decision which provided that claims for damages arising from deliberate assaults were subject to a non-extendable six year limitation period. The effect of the Judgment is that the Court now have a discretion to allow such claims to proceed notwithstanding the expiry of the primary limitation period. more...
