domestic violence

If you are involved in a relationship where domestic violence has occurred, seeking swift legal advice is essential.

If you have suffered domestic violence, we will discuss your experiences sensitively and sympathetically and advise you on your options for protecting yourself from further abuse, such as seeking a non-molestation order or injunction against the person responsible. If you have children, we will advise you on whether the person responsible should be offered contact with the children.

If you have been accused of domestic violence, we can advise you on what orders may be served on you. If you have had such an order served upon you, we can assist you with immediate advice, as a breach of such an order has significant consequences.

Any breach of a non-molestation order made after 2 July 2007 is an automatically arrestable offence. If you breach such an order, you will be sentenced by either the Magistrates’ Court or Crown Court and acquire a criminal record, which could have serious implications for other aspects of your life.
