divorce
The divorce process itself would appear to be straightforward but, be warned; it is very easy to make a simple mistake in the completion of a petition of divorce and then face serious difficulties in seeking to conclude your divorce. It is from the very outset that you should seek advice in relation to the law surrounding and the expertise required in drafting a divorce petition.
If you have received a divorce petition from your spouse it is important that you seek advice prior to responding to the petition. It is possible for information contained within a divorce petition to be used in evidence against you in other family proceedings. Our experienced team will be able to negotiate amendments to a petition to try to avoid such situations occurring.
The divorce process is usually dealt with by postal communications with the parties and the court. In the event that attendance at court is required in relation to the divorce, our offices in Southend and Chelmsford are both situated close to the County Court in each town.
BTMK Family is able to give full advice in relation to divorce proceedings, and do so on a daily basis.
Alongside advice relating to divorce proceedings BTMK Family will be able to advise you as to whether you or your spouse has any claim for financial provision, which can be dealt with within the divorce proceedings. Please refer to information relating to "Finance on Divorce" here.
