Care proceedings

Where local authority social services are involved with your family, due to allegations of neglect or abuse of children, it is essential that you seek legal advice.

We have a dedicated team dealing solely with child protection issues and will advise and assist you in working with the local authority to resolve matters concerning your child.

For example, if the local authority asks you to attend a child protection conference, we will attend that meeting to ensure your legal rights are adhered to.

In some circumstances, the local authority will issue court proceedings for a care order allowing them to remove your child from your care. If you are notified that the local authority is making such an application, we recommend that you contact us immediately.

If the child involved is your natural child, we will be able to provide you with Legal Aid funding immediately and arrange representation for you at any court hearing, to assist you in resisting the local authority in trying to remove your child from your care.
