Compromise agreements
Working relationships can sometimes turn sour and break down irretrievably. When this happens, employees may threaten to bring employment tribunal claims.
To protect against such claims, you may wish to enter into a legally binding contract with your employees, which is commonly referred to as a compromise or severance agreement.
We can draft a compromise agreement on your behalf and provide specialist advice on how it may be appropriately used.
For example, while these agreements can be used to set out the terms of an employee’s departure and avoid future claims by them, they can also be drafted in a way that prevents adverse publicity for you and your business, to protect confidentiality or reinforce restrictive covenants.
