Funding your case
The BTMK Employment Team offers a wide range of funding options for employees who are seeking advice on employment issues. Some of the available funding options are outlined below.
Legal Help and Help at Court Scheme
The Legal Help and Help at Court Scheme (“the Scheme”) is a free limited form of Government funding available for advice and assistance in employment matters. BTMK LLP is one of very few solicitors in the region to offer assistance under the Scheme. The Scheme is strictly available only to those who are financially eligible and whose claims have sufficient merit.
Please contact a member of our team for an immediate assessment of your eligibility.
Legal Expenses Insurance
Many of our clients are unaware that they have legal expenses cover under an existing insurance policy. This type of insurance can be extremely valuable and cover your legal fees to pursue a claim in the Employment Tribunal. As a result we always advise clients to check their household, buildings, contents or any other policy of insurance.
If you do have insurance cover your insurer will often allow you to choose a solicitor to represent you, rather than refer you to their nominated solicitors, whom may not be local to you.
If you think that you may be entitled to assistance under any policy of insurance that you hold, please contact a member of our team for further advice and assistance.
Contingency Fee Agreement ('No win no fee agreement')BTMK can offer assistance to clients under ‘no win no fee’ agreements if their case is deemed suitable. Under the terms of the agreement we would prepare your case fully for your final hearing, and conduct settlement negotiations on your behalf. In return we would receive a proportion of any damages you may be awarded or you received through settlement. If you lost your case you would not have to pay our legal fees.
Please contact a member of our team for a 'no win no fee' assessment.
Paying Privately
BTMK strives to provide clients with a cost effective service. We therefore like to work with clients to agree budgets and fee limitations. If you need to pay privately for legal advice we will enter into a retainer with you whereby we will charge you for the time spent on your matter at the hourly rate applicable to the solicitor dealing with your case.
Alternatively, we can also agree to work within fixed fee arrangements.
