Hi-tech Crime

The rapid growth of e-commerce has led in turn to an increase in ‘e-crimes’. Indeed, new cyber-crimes have emerged, including virus distribution and computer misuse. Developments in IT have revolutionised the commission of old crimes such as deception, fraud and possession of indecent images.

We are experienced in matters referred to The National Hi Tech Crime Unit (NHTCU). Our team understands the language of phish-ing, hacking and ghost sites.

We have experience in defending a range of hi-tech cases including:

  • Distribution of pornography (Operation Ore)
  • Online sexual grooming
  • E-bay frauds
  • Theft of e-mails
  • Criminal Damage by virus
  • Computer misuse
