Crown Court
Crown Court cases are the most serious and complex matters within the criminal justice system.
At BTMK, we appreciate that the Crown Court is an intimidating arena for our clients so we ensure that from the earliest stage, we will keep you fully advised on the procedures involved and likely outcomes.
Our team includes five solicitors appointed as higher court advocates, which means that they can represent you at Crown Court, giving you continuity of representation from the start of the case to its conclusion. When matters are not retained in-house, we instruct experienced barristers from specialist chambers. We routinely handle Crown Court cases including:
- drug trafficking/importations
- fraud and deception
- kidnapping
- manslaughter
- multi-handed conspiracies
- murder
- robbery
- serious sexual offences.
Funding for Crown Court work is often available through the Legal Aid scheme, on which more information is available here. We also undertake private work, particularly in the area of appeals.
